Wellboat

Intended for the transport of live fish, this concept was created through a collaboration between the Detroit Brasil shipyard and the group’s shipowner in Chile, with a carrying capacity of 2,000 m³ in two cargo tanks, and the ability to unload both tanks simultaneously.
Designed to operate under strict sanitary and environmental requirements, it aims to ensure operational safety and fish welfare during transportation. For this, it uses a technology developed by the Detroit Group in a pioneering project, which resulted in a highly-automated system, providing the operator with full control and monitoring of loading, transport and unloading conditions of live fish.
When completed, the four vessels that are part of the project will join Detroit’s fleet, one of the largest and most significant in the Chilean Salmon market.

Specifications

Length: 72.1 m
Beam: 15.5 m
Accommodation: 18 Crew members
Propulsion: Controllable Pitch

Other Projects

In addition to the projects already conceived, Detroit Brasil has already delivered and is able to meet other demands of the naval market and have developed many different types of vessels, such as ferries, dredgers, passenger catamarans, among others. With a highly qualified engineering team and a sophisticated set of development, simulation and project detailing tools, the shipyard is able to meet demands of different segments. Several special projects have already been developed in partnership with shipowners and designers, and although the shipyard has its own projects, it has no restrictions to operate in this format, giving the customer greater flexibility and alternatives.
